In the spring of 2014 my local quilt shop closed and not long after I found myself standing in front of an empty storefront with a "FOR RENT" sign. As fate would have it we opened our doors as Bunny Hop Quilt Shop on October 3rd, 2014. By September of 2015 we had moved the shop to our current address, after finding a perfectly charming Historical Victorian in a great location.
I started sewing in Girl Scouts and 4-H and through High school. Both my mother & stepmother had major influences on my sewing. For many years I made my own clothing and wore it proudly. Later when I married and we purchased our own home, curtains and other domestic items made their way onto my grandmothers Featherweight. As children came along, nursery items and little boys clothing were made at a fast clip. Seasonal items like Christmas pajamas and Halloween costumes followed.
Then I discovered quilting.
I started with smaller items and rapidly moved onto twin and queen sized quilts. I discovered the amazing community of quilting, joined my local guild, and was a regular at my local quilt shop. Then I opened my own shop. I love what I do and people that I see everyday. My latest creative endeavor; Wool and A Maker Studio. Bunny Hop Quilt Shop is my happy place, and I hope it will be yours too.
